About
Founded September 15, 2006, Los Amigos de Valles Caldera
is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to support
Valles Caldera National Preserve for present and future generations
through outreach, education, restoration, and collaboration.
In recent years, we conducted multiple ecological restoration projects on the preserve, ran a variety of educational tours and events, developed educational materials on the preserve's Historic Cabin District, helped to maintain miles of trails, supported Valles Caldera's Night Sky Program, and much more.
In addition to being the official Friends Group for the preserve,
we signed a Cooperating Association Agreement with the National Park Service
in September, 2016 which allowed us to open the doors to the Valle Grande Bookstore on November 28, 2016. The store sells books, apparel, collectibles, outdoor items,
snacks and drinks, and more at two preserve locations.

Los Amigos Board of Directors
Los Amigos de Valles Caldera is run by a Board of Directors who volunteer their time working to support Valles Caldera National Preserve. Diverse in areas of expertise, we are united by a passion for preserving and sharing Valles Caldera's unique heritage, as well as its lush forests, meandering meadow streams, abundant wildlife, and other natural wonders.
